Go ahead and give those emails and texts a break. With neatly written letters as well as options to customise and add a personal touch, city-based The Indian Handwritten Letter Co believes in keeping it old school.

Putting Pen To Paper

Whether it’s to convey a special message to a loved one or to send out a motivating letter to your employee{s}, sometimes, emails and texts just don’t do the trick. After all, nothing quite beats the charm of a good old letter. But, who has the time for that anymore, you ask? So, imagine our surprise, when one fine morning, we came to office to find a neatly written letter waiting for us, courtesy The Indian Handwritten Letter Co {TIHLC}. Started by three friends, Anubhav Ankit, Shashank Srinivas and Jashwanth Cheripally, the six-month old, city-based venture specialises in sending handwritten letters using premium quality paper and envelopes made of recycled paper.

Having already sent out over 1,700 letters, the orders they receive include everything from love letters and wedding letters to business and even resignation letters {leave on a good note, literally}! We love that they also offer to write in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali, among others.

Snail Mail

Can’t wait to try it out? Head to their website and fill in necessary details {name, contact number and address} and the message you want to sent. Or, just jot down pointers or notes on what you want to convey and the folks at TIHLC will write it out for you. You also get to choose a handwriting sample {perhaps a slightly imperfect one, for that added personal touch?} and the paper tone — ivory, white and blue — before you proceed to check out the preview and make the payment. Sticking to true snail mail style, they even opt for India Post to send the letters. Planning to go ahead and write a letter yourself? Keep an eye out for the stationery kit that they’ll be introducing soon. Oh, they might also have workshops on letter writing for kids, we’re told.
