If you have no clue what authentic Bihari cuisine tastes like, The Potbelly Divine is here to change that for you. Located above Third Wave Coffee Roasters in Indiranagar, the whole place is tastefully done with chairs made out of charpai sheets and ikat seat coverings, walls made out of cement and engraved with local artwork (totally Insta-worthy). Get your dose of the usual Bihari cuisine in the form of litti chokha, dal bhaat thali, and sarso macchli (mustard-based fish curry served with rice). So, if you like a dash of mustard in your food, this place is sure to steal your heart. If you don’t, keep an open mind and the Bihari food here will speak for itself.
Start off your meal with a refreshing glass of lemonade priced. For starters order the Baggia Basket which is pockets of rice flour with spiced channa dal stuffed with tomato chokha (mashed tomatoes with mustard) and Meat Pakora Basket (mutton and chicken pakoras with chutneys). Move on the mains and order Khada Masala Mutton (mutton in spicy gravy served with rice and boondi raita) and vegetarians order their litti chokha which is an authentic Bihari dish consisting of whole wheat balls stuffed with sattu (spice gram flour) served with channa dal, mashed aubergine and potato mash priced at INR 320.
If you are a seafood lover, there’s plenty for you to choose from. Try their seafood options such as Jhinga Macchli, Sarso Macchli, and Dehati Fish n Chips among others. End your meal with a serving of Saffron Boondhi on Hung Curd and Makahana Kheer. Needless to say, all that Bihari food will leave you with a potbelly, only in a good way of course.
