Your Little Black Book For Eating, Shopping And Chilling At KIAB

Always thought the Kempegowda International Airport {KIAB} was a boring place to spend those extra hours during layovers or delayed flights? Not any more, folks. Whether you’re flying in or out of town {or find yourself in an unfavourable situation like Viktor Navorski aka Tom Hanks in The Terminal}, there’s enough to check out right in the airport. Have a relaxing spa session, sip on some wine or even do a spot of shopping while you lounge about.

For all those who are constantly hungry, especially when there’s a holiday coming up, the KIAL does its fair share to keep you happy. From hot idlis and oatmeal cookies to grilled chicken and pasta, here where to refuel.

La Alta Vita

A slice of Italy right here with pizzas, healthy salads and pastas to load up on. If you’re not in a tearing hurry, stop by for this trattoria for a buffet that includes their specials. Breakfasts here are great if you want to avoid the Indian versions. Think fresh fruit juices, flavoured yogurt, breads ranging from croissants to danishes, eggs, sausages and of course, coffee.

La Tepenade

Baguettes with fresh olives, tomato and mozzarella is a hot favourite. For brekkie pick from yoghurt parfaits and Focaccia, and if lunch and dinner is what you need their Za’atar Rubbed Grilled Chicken and Peri Peri Prawns are ace. No matter what meal you have, end with Tiramisu.

Want to tuck in to some crispy vadas, soft idlis and ghee-laden masala dosas before you catch that flight? Make way to the Maiyas outlet outside. Mostly served with chutney and sagu, their Akki Roti also makes for a quick meal. While you’re at it, pair it up with a cup of their coffee.

Café Noir

We wouldn’t mind getting to the airport a little early just to spend some time lounging about at Cafe Noir right outside Departures, sipping a cup of cappuccino. Pair that with one of their quiches or sandwiches and you’ve got yourself a nice meal before heading off to catch that flight. You can even pack up some of their snacks to chow down {they have a handy box to go} while you’re waiting for your boarding call.

Fresh & Healthy

Calorie counters, this is for you. Soups, fresh juices, healthy smooties, gourmet sandwiches and salads are what this eatery is all about. Either sit in and or grab your food to go, but rest assured it’ll be a healthy one.
