A small little café in the Ulsoor area, Skoolroom sure lives up to its tagline of 'nostalgia meets gastronomy'.
They have a simple menu that's meant to be like your school bulletin board or that quintessential black board. The food on offer is very mixed and there is no single cuisine. From Tom Yum soup and baos to thin-crust pizzas and delicious burgers, they've got it all. Plus mains that are dominated by Asian flavours. Think Thai curries, noodles with a smattering of grilled meats.
Starters are aplenty and the favourite at my table were the Chilli Basil Chicken and Cheese Nachos, though it could have done with more cheese. I loved the burgers - lamb and chicken, that came with double fried French fries. But what's even better is that it's served on an exam board! Love it.
Pastas are in the make-your-own format so you can add all sorts of toppings in any sauce you like. I'm gunning for the cheesy one, and the Pink sauce.
