As Ramzan arrives, Gulbarga’s iconic Dargah Road is lit up with celebrations. The Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah, a centuries-old Sufi shrine built in honour of the renowned saint Khwaja Syed Mohammad Gesu Daraz, also known as Khwaja Bande Nawaz, becomes the centre of attraction.
While tourists throng to the dargah all year round, there is a different kind of pull during the holy month of Ramzan. The aroma of delicious Mughlai food, especially biryani is a key reason! The Gulbarga biryani is actually very similar to the renowned Hyderabadi biryani since both belonged to the same Nawab state, which makes the appeal greater.
This Ramzan, LBB in collaboration with Thums Up, is all set to put the spotlight on this biryani by visiting Dargah Road’s iconic biryani restaurants on 20th March. Restaurants like Harmain Restaurant, Al Marjan, Nawaz Biryani House, Khana Khazana and Laham Restaurant will be a part of this biryani walk.
Additionally, popular actor Prajwal Devaraj will be a part of this very delicious walk too, along with heritage experts who will tell us all about the history of the area and the food.
