What Makes It Awesome

If you’re a true blue-Bangalorean, then you’ve got to get yourself to Toit for their tribute menu. Honouring restaurants that have been Bangalore favourites from way back when, Chef Kavan has played on signature dishes from the likes of The Only Place, Indiana, Pecos, and of course, Koshy’s!

Smileys & Mutton Cutlets (shaped-like fish, naturally) will take you straight to Koshy’s on St. Marks where the likes of Queen Elizabeth dined, and this tribute dish is a great nod to that quintessential Bangalore favourite. The burger on the menu is a Sloppy Joe with beef mince, a fried egg, and ‘secret brown sauce’. Indeed, it’s a throwback to when Casa Piccola was THE place to go to whether it was a birthday, an anniversary, a first date or that after-report card treat! We are dying to try their version of Indiana’s Lamb Burger that comes with unlimited mayo, sesame buns and onions. The ticket to Rex/Galaxy/Symphony are unfortunately not included as sides.

The Bangalore Steak will no doubt remind you of The Only Place. With a mushroom sauce drizzled over the butter-basted tenderloin steak, you’ll know instantly who they’re paying respect to! And if all these are on the list, can Pecos be far behind. Of course, with the Pecos Beef Chilly Fry, it’s at the top of our list!

End with the Pineapple Pastry Sundae (Sweet Chariot, hi!) or the Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae (does this really need an explanation?), that has a Chef Kavan twist to it.

Pro-Tip

With the desserts and all the mains, don’t go expecting the originals, and skip the comparisons. This is just Toit going all Bangalorean on us, and this trip down Bangalore’s culinary memory lane is giving us all kinds of feels! It's on only through March, so go, go, go!
