Winning For

The really lovely ambience.

Lowdown On The Ambience

While the restaurant might be located in a mall, they do everything to make sure you don’t feel you are in one. The seating is comfortable with sofas to chill in, ornate giant mirrors and green and gold accents. We recommend you make a reservation for the seats that are located next to the huge glass windows that look out into the neighbourhood. This should make for a nice view at night. Plus, high chairs for the kids gets a thumbs up from this reviewer.

What's On The Menu?

The menu is really vast and there are choices galore — from antipasti to thin crust pizzas and pastas to risottos. Our beef carpaccio came plated with thin slivers of beef dressed up with olive oil, blobs of pesto, rings of crunchy onions and a drizzle of balsamic. The beef was light and went well with the other accompaniments. The little lady on our table ordered her pasta tossed up in butter and parmesan. The kids menu comes with an activity sheet, colouring pencils plus burgers, pastas and risottos, all served with fries of course!

Main Attraction

Our mains comprised Tiger Prawns, lemon and tarragon flavoured plump prawns {helpfully dissected midway} served with potato salad, buttered spinach, and a lemon caper butter sauce. The juicy prawns went so well with the lemon butter sauce, and we didn’t feel the need for any carbs to complete our meal. The lamb chops came with crusted pistachio, herbs and bread crumbs, all grilled to perfection with the edges slightly charred. Served with brown jus and fried polenta and grilled veggies, the lamb chops were really the star of the meal.

We finished with a spice flaked bread pudding slathered with creme anglaise and felt like we couldn’t move for sometime.

So, We're Thinking...

Dining at Toscano is expensive, but the portions are really huge and can be shared between two people easily.
