Did we tell you that Koramangala now has a brand new travel-themed cafe? Yes we did. Called Off The Radar, the cafe-cum-events space will take you straight to the hills {or at least in your head}.

Hill Station Cafe Feels

Opened in January 2017, Off The Radar is a new cafe in Koramangala, and we are going to make that effort to travel to it even with the crazy traffic scenes. Easily missable while you are on the road, the cafe shares its entrance with the well-known outdoor-themed apparel store Wolfpack. The moment you enter the cafe though, you’ll be transported straight to the foothills of Himalayas {if you can zone out the snarl of traffic outside}. Off The Radar will remind you of any of the charming cafes of Dharamshala or Manali.

Pack Your Bags

From an ancient world map from 1814 mounted on the wall to parts of a vintage bicycle as decor, Off The Radar’s interiors are rather charming. Then there is the travel gear, souvenirs and photographs collected from journeys all moonlighting as decor. The roof of the cafe is painted and is supposed to give an impression of an open sky with fluffy clouds. Plus, the typical prayer flags. At this cafe you can eat, read and breathe travel and it can stir the lazy wanderlust in you to start planning your next trip right away. There’s even a bookshelf  full of travelogues, and thumbed-through copies of National Geographic magazines to add to the backpacker-like vibe.

The cafe is a space for not just wanderers, travellers, and outdoor enthusiasts to chill and unwind over a cup of green tea, but is also a space to catch travel-themed documentaries, movies, and workshops.

Vegetarian Trail

The vegetarian menu is still a work in progress at this new cafe. However, what we can tell you is that the menu has everything from salads to soups and pasta. Being a travel cafe, the menu also borrows a lot of pahaadi-inspired dishes such as thukpa. The ingredients are sourced locally and regionally to reduce carbon footprint. The menu also offers a lot of vegan options along with the choice to turn vegetarian dishes into vegan versions. We hear that they serve in-house vegan yogi bars too. The beverages mainly consist of tea, coffee, herbal infusions, and healthy juices {beetroot, carrot, and the likes}.

We are making a trip to Off The Road soon to check out their menu. Watch this space for more.
