What Makes It Awesome?

Basil Bistro is one gem of a place I found in HSR. The wide variety of cuisines are served here from Italian to continental, Chinese and Indian. And everything comes with a dash of uniqueness by the Chef. I went here for dinner. The ambience here is calm and cozy and the wooden interiors give it a raw and rustic look. I started my meal with a "Minestrone Soup" and a "Cream of Broccoli Almonds", and fell for the latter. The blend was so perfect and the almonds chips on top gave it a scrummy flavor. "Salad of Capri" was yet another delicious experiment of tomato, basil, mozzarella dressed with pesto sauce and olive oil. The "Washington Apple Salad", was almost a sweet treat with a pinch of strawberry crush. In the starters section, I had a "Char-Grilled Mushroom & Babycorn", "Honey Glazed Spiced Chicken", "Peri Peri Chicken Wings", and "Spanakopita". The chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh and rightly chewable, the Spanakopita is one impressive vegetarian dish, it was patties filled with feta cheese and spinach, best tasted hot. I had a slice of "Monza Chicken Mushroom Pizza" and "Prime Veggie Delight Pizza". The pizzas here are wood-fired, thin-crust and don't make you feel heavy on the tummy. The "Bolognaise" pasta served with minced lamb, leek, celery, and tomatoes is commendable. And their "Sangria Wine" definitely complimented it. The chef recommended spinach and lamb ravioli was heart-winning, the spinach in ravioli can never go wrong and the addition of lamb was yum. I had "Grilled Fish with Cream & Rice" and " Exotic Vegetable Risotto" from their continental section. The grilled Basa fish was served with creamy sauce and buttered rice, this fish is usually bland. The Risotto had arborio rice and vegetables cooked with white wine and parmesan cheese in a rich creamy sauce. It was very light and was amazingly infused with the smoky flavor of ginger/garlic. In the Indian Main course, I had "Bengali Fish Curry", the curry tasted very homely and went well with the chapatis. Last but most important, Desserts! Their "Churros with Chocolate Sauce" was sweetened accurately, the inside and out texture was rightly crunchy and tasted luscious. The "Tiramisu" was equally delicious but what really has set the benchmark for dessert is their "Blueberry Cheesecake". I'm a lover of Blueberry Cheesecake and trust me they definitely serve the best. The texture was very smooth and still, the slice shape was held. I shall definitely visit again to try on more dishes and definitely the Blueberry Cheesecake.
