The menu is cheaply priced. The must-try starters are Deccan chips made out of flaky Malabar paratha tossed with dried garlic and coconut powder. Deccan chips are the most favourite crispy starter that can be a good side dish with a cup of beer. Bisi Belle Poppers an Indian fusion dish prepared with Karnataka's most famous bisibelle bath which is cooked with lentils and filled with cheese and deep-fried. Such an innovative dish making it one the best to visit this place for its south Indian innovation.
Thawa fish fry and Malapuram chicken skewers are a must-try as it has the Spicy, Aromatic and Flavorful Kerala Style flavours on it. Spicy fish fry is an important item in the south Indian non-vegetarian meals. Any south Indian non-vegetarian meal is incomplete without this delicacy. This pan-fried fish is spicy and it has a flavour of Garlic ginger and fennel. Juicy n Tender Chicken Kebab flavoured with Cilantro and Mint a mouth-watering appetizer for a perfect evening.
The Kotthu porota is one crazy street food from the streets of Tamil Nadu. They have brought the true flavours into it and made it my favourite dish of the day. Kothu Parotta is prepared with mixed vegetables that include carrot, beans and green peas, egg kothu parotta calls for scrambling eggs while chicken kothu parotta has chicken pieces with salna gravy going into it. Whatever the variation, I can tell you that it is hard to resist fast food. Kothu means ‘minced’ in Tamil where the small strips of soft and flaky parottas are coated with a medley of spices and salna (gravy) and pounded into a mince using the edge of a glass. This dish is a must-try.
Baked Kuzhipaniyaram an innovation which has maintained the taste of the paniyaram. It had a cheesy layer on top and it went amazingly well with the Authentic paniyaram. Idly with chinnavengaya sambar, this is again another famous Tamil Nadu foods that are Authentic and tasty which features one ingredient the small onion. Ghee roast famous in Mangalore is exactly replicated in UDP.
The famous Potil Biryani another Authentic south Indian dish is best replicated in UDP. Biryani wrapped under the banana leaf and served hot. The taste is entirely different from that of normal dum biryani and other biryanis that you get. This adds up by having in the banana leaf and enjoyed the most as the flavours are kept in the potli and adds up to be the best dish at UDP.
Desserts are the best part here. Being a Malayali my self is addicted to the Elaneer Payasam Pudding. This dessert is so Authentic and took me back to the days I spent in Kerala having tender coconut payasam what my mother prepares. The bits of the tender coconut pieces along with the blend of evaporated milk and coconut milk make this dish really delicious. The creamy tender coconut pudding is incredibly delicious with delicate bites of tender coconuts and the perfect balance of sweetness.
Ajjis apple crumble a sweet variety that contains apples mixed with a crumble. Its chef's special dish and it's a must-try. It is soggy and crispy at the same time. Its has highly flavoured. It's a healthy yummy dessert. The Gulab Jamun Tiramisu is another must-try dish.
Mentioning about the service and staff this place is new and has a well-trained staff. The manager Shan was very helpful in helping us with the dishes and mentioning the ingredients so we understand better.
