Curated by the Indian Institute of Cartoonists in collaboration with the National Gallery Of Modern Art, this 19-day long exhibition will showcase the unpublished work of the renowned Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist, RK Laxman. The show will be inaugurated today at 6pm.

For every art and pop culture enthusiast out there, RK Laxman has been one of the most recognised and beloved cartoonists we’ve had. Known for bringing characters like The Common Man to life and winning much public admiration with his daily cartoon strip You Said It for the Times Of India, Laxman is an artist with a legacy worth celebrating.
Why Should I Go For It?
The exhibition will feature over 95 sketches of the legendary cartoonist that have never been published. This includes the doodles he had made of different conversations and experiences in his life {post 1975} that were collected in a scrapbook, gifted to him by his older brother, RK Srinivasan. The scrapbook is now with RS Krishnaswamy in Bangalore, son of RK Srinivasan, most of its contents will be exhibited at this show. Honouring his hometown of Mysore, this exhibition will also be serving Mysore food like shavige baath and bhajjis at the inauguration. So head over to Palace Road today to catch the rare works of one of the country’s finest cartoonists. If you can’t make it to the inauguration, pay the gallery a visit anytime before the Sunday October 1, which is when the exhibition closes.
