Vista Del Lago in Wayanad is serious weekend getaway goal. Picture an infinity pool that’s blue as the sky. Done? Good. Now, picture it on a rooftop. Getting better, right? Well, throw in a lake and a mountain in the background now. Brilliant, right? Well, all that and more are what you are going to get at the aptly named property of Vista Del Lago property. For those of you whose Spanish is restricted to ‘Si’, the name roughly translates to ‘the view of the lake’. And the view doesn’t just stop there. Look out of the bedroom window and there will be a side of Karapuzha Lake that you might not have seen while floating in the pool. Oh, and of course, the mountains in the backdrop are also visible. Talk about location, eh?

The homestay has a lot of Spanish elements going on with the prominent ones being the use of mosaic that’s straight from the books of architect Gaudi in the bedrooms and those all too familiar arches. There’s a bit of Portuguese going on as well, but those are restricted to the gorgeous tiles on the floor. Bedrooms are three and are tastefully furnished with balconies. There’s even a private room with three single beds and an attached bathroom as well.

The rooms are priced at INR 7,000 upwards per night for two people, so it’s either solo or with your SO that can be on the cards. Or why not send the parents on an all-expenses-paid weekend getaway? Major brownie points in the last option, we say!

While there’s not much to do within the property except laze around or in the pool or catch up on some reading in the balcony, you won’t get bored of the place. There’s a multi-cuisine restaurant whose fare is made from the produce from the organic garden within the property.
