While my mind says beach volleyball, my editor says volleyball. And truth be told, she does make a point. There are no beaches in Bangalore but there are plenty of volleyball courts to play, so here are those places you can book off for the weekend or after office hours to play a game or two.

Magnum Arena
Located about 2 km from the Wipro Office on Sarjapur, the arena has two hard ground volleyball courts. On weekdays, the slots after 7pm are always booked by the neighbouring office goers, so be sure to call them up well in advance if you want a slot after office hours. The arena has changing rooms and washrooms, and it’s advisable that you bring your own volleyball.
SPT Sports
This arena sports a grass turf {it’s a bit worn out near the attack line} and is usually not that crowded like Magnum owing to the fact that not a lot of people know about it. It’s more popular for its five-a-side football ground and cricket ground. You’ll need to bring your own volleyball here.
XLR8 Indoor Sports Arena
This is a well-equipped state-of-the-art indoor sports arena and it comes with well-designed and official sized courts. Apart from both indoor and outdoor volleyball courts, the arena also hosts games such as indoor cricket, football, netball, badminton, table tennis, and hockey. We love the fact that there’s a cafe on the premises. After a long game, who wouldn’t want to unwind and grab a bite, right?
Play Arena
Minus the beach, you can play beach volleyball here as the court comes with beach sand. Apart from this, Play Arena is well known for its FIFA-approved astroturf football grounds and its skatepark. The skatepark is a favourite of ours even though we really can’t skate to save our own lives. You can also try your hand at other sports and activities such as laser tag, zip lining, tennis, and badminton.
