Tired from all the shopping at VR Bengaluru? I’ve found The Waverly Express at the ground floor works wonders to refuel.

What Is It?

Taking up an unobtrusive section of the Ground Floor in the VR Bengaluru, this little express cafe is courtesy The Waverly Express. They do just the right sized portions of soups, salads, sandwiches and a few desserts.

Who Is It For?

All you folks who shop till you drop, no need to! Just halt, refuel at this cafe, and soldier on! You can even take your smoothie to go.

What Is The Ambience Like?

Just an extension of the very English Hotel Waverly, the express cafe is minimalist, with tables, chairs and the dessert display cabinet are on the mall floor, while the actual counter in on the side. So order, pay and your meal will come to you. Alternatively, you can go pick it up and carry on shopping.

Must Eat

I tried the Haymarket Stack Salad — a homely and typical London salad of garden veggies in a cream and mustard dressing. And my dining partner had a Fig & Date smoothies {there’s also an interesting Mango & Rosemary and a more decadent chocolate and strawberry one too}, and there ended our healthy sojourn.

Fries, an Open Face Chilly Cheese Sandwich {a ciabatta toasted and loaded with three cheeses}, and pesto penne with chicken served as the mains. I really enjoyed the sandwich and pasta. The fries were more wedges, but I am not complaining. Sign off on this meal with one of their cheese cake or raspberry red velvet slices. If you’re sleepy, knock back a filter coffee and be on your way.

More On The Experience

It was quite a relaxing experience since the ground floor isn’t too crowded. And most people hit the food court so service is usually quick here.
