This Store In HSR Layout Sells Orissa Handlooms And Art

What Makes It Awesome

Find home decor, clothes and jewellery at this tiny store in the basement of a complex in HSR Layout. Dedicated to Orissa arts and handlooms, you’ll be coming here for more. Located just off 27th main road in HSR Layout, this humble store is in the basement of a complex (right next to the new Art Cave) and is run by a man and his daughter. Letter holders and cushions have designs of birds and butterflies stitched on them. Bags are available in different sizes (the bigger ones are great for carrying your baby’s things, we’re looking at you new mothers) and come in bright yellows and blues. The home decor includes copper coil based pieces like Buddhas and tribal art. They can be used as paperweights or just to add aesthetics at home.

The necklaces remind us of junk jewellery, with cloth used as the base necklace with coil work pendants. There seemed to be an endless supply of terracotta jewellery as well - that came in sets or just earrings starting at INR 30. The kurtas and sarees caught our eye, starting at INR 200, they are available in pure cotton with ethnic motifs on them. You will also find Orissa art on recycled paper that you could frame and hang up. With products starting at INR 30 and going up to INR 1,000, this store is going to become a favourite haunt.
