Trendy but casual food, innovative cocktails and a poolside ambience gets a thumbs up from us.

Lowdown On The Ambience

God is in the details, and the team at WHTFLD Bar & Grill are devout. From the cutlery to the up-cycled, bucolic tables, to the open bar and kitchen, everything ties neatly into a rustic narrative. Cooler by the virtue of being near the pool, you don’t have to worry a great deal about the summer heat too.

What's On The Menu?

Tanking up on freshly-baked baguettes that came with a tomato and olive infused butter, we ran the risk of getting full before the starters even arrived. Exercising a little moderation, we then turned our attention to the United States of Whitefield, an oaky, earthy, whiskey concoction and the Beetroot Salad, a smoky number that stars toasted walnuts, quinoa, arugula and confit tomato. And just when we thought that the succulent, Gambas {prawns} was a tough act to follow, out came the BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders. Carefully sandwiched between soft, black buns {Hello Black Burger trend!} and smothered with a thick coating of homemade BBQ sauce, the pulled pork {marinated overnight} yields effortlessly to your palette. But at the end of the day, what really stole the show for us, was the imperial lobster {Catch Of The Day} with its fresh, tender and delicate flavours, so retained by not overcooking the crustacean.

Next, we sliced into the enormous T-Bone Steak, raving at its tenderness. This was accompanied by the Smokin’ Barrels – single malt and bitters, served in what appeared to be a re-purposed incandescent bulb. The homegrown herbs and the bitters matured in-house, are testament to the WHTFLD Bar & Grill’s philosophy – fresh, or it’s not served at all. The grand finale came in the form of dessert – the tender coconut ice cream, accompanied by a sinful sundae, a slice of crumbly chocolate and peanut butter pie. Were we stuffed and how.

So, We’re Thinking..

Best enjoyed at sundown, the poolside experience and the food here is definitely worth it. Plus points for good {the staff are well informed about everything on the menu} and prompt service.
