What Is It?

Touted to be the largest celebration of space on the planet, World Space Week was held in over 86 countries in the last year, and this time round Namma Bengaluru will also be included in this celebration of space and technology and how they’ve made our lives so much better. Organised by Books & Brews this week, from Wednesday, October 4 to Tuesday, October 10, the city will be learning what goes into a sky full of stars through book sessions, board games and more.

Who Is It For?

A must for space enthusiasts, of course, and for those who love new experiences and learning. This is the first time World Space Week is coming to the city. All the events have certain age restrictions, with some allowing kids over the age of 7 to attend {these are for the little space explorers} to events for those over 16 only.

Why Should I Go For It?

How often does a space-themed event hit the streets of Bangalore? That’s right, once in a blue moon. Catch one or all of these space-themed events from an Introduction to Science Fiction by Ravi Menezes to spoken word poetry, book sessions, board games and film screenings on the subject. There will also be an art and text workshop called The Silly Space, organised by Khushnaz Lala. Book your tickets for the workshop here. Apart from the workshop, all the other events happening all through the week are completely free. The events will take place in a slew of Bangalore landmarks and cultural venues, from Goobe’s Book Republic on Church Street to Games Khopcha at Koramangala. After this, stargazing will take a whole new meaning.

When: Wednesday, October 4 – Tuesday, October 10

Where: Multiple Venues
