Deepa, the Founder and resident animate creator and designer, started crocheting as a hobby and meditative resort. As she fell more in love with the wonders yarn could do in a simple crochet hook, she began making animal characters using the ancient art of Amigurumi. Now, Yarn Farm works with and skills a small team of local women to create this magic in abundance. The brand is also sustainable in the sense that they use only 100% hand-dyed cotton yarn that is also allergy-free and eco-friendly. Basically, baby-friendly and baby proof.
Speaking of, we think you shouldn't limit yourself (a grown adult) from getting you a Yarn Farm animate(s). We confess that we want Elwis the Elephant, Hans the Grizzly Bear and Mr Foxy Tails as our forever buddies! We love all the pastel colours these come in too. Deepa tends to stick to lighter shades to avoid colour running (since these are natural colours). Every animate takes about 12-15 hours to make and is made to order.
