The bubble tea rage has picked up in Bangalore, and we are all here for it. YOYO! Fresh Tea Bar, a Netherlands-based outfit, comes at a time when we are in the mood for bubble tea. After all, who doesn't love the idea of a cool drink with some boba to beat the heat or when you want to sip on something other than tea or coffee? It's the brand's first foray into Bangalore (and India), and they've started with quite a colourful store. It's cute, with pops of pink, and there's even a space for hosting community events such as open mics. We see ourselves spending some time here sipping on our drinks while we take a break from having shopped at H&M and Marks & Spencer at 1MG Mall opposite the tea bar.
We love an uncomplicated menu, and here, they keep it very concise. You can pick from their Signature Sips, Classics & Milk Teas or Make Your Bubble Tea sections. We did a Strawberry Mint from the Signature Sips and a Coconut Dream from the Milk Tea section. The Strawberry tasted like strawberry — none of that artificial, out-of-the-can flavour. And the Coconut Dream hit all the right notes. What's quite interesting is that they brew the tea fresh every few hours as well as make the boba at regular intervals so that you always get the freshest of the drinks.
We do see ourselves going back here because of the convenience and how close it is to our home. And we do want to give a crack at the whole making your bubble tea situation where you can pick your base, flavour, and toppings.
Oh, and lest we forget, they also do a series of warm bubble teas for those of you who want to skip the ice.
