What Makes It Awesome?

On a very rainy evening like today, I ended up here in Shift with a friend. We initially were seated in the rooftop which is a beautifully done place, but with the heavy pouring rains we had to head down to the indoor seating which was equally Curated well.

I ordered a Pina Colada & my friend a Jack Thomas, for me the Pina Colada was a really strong drink here, subdued in creamy sweet Coconut milk & pineapple Infusion. But once I tried a sip from my friend’s Jack Thomas I shifted sides. Vodka, Gin, Tequila, White Rum, Triple Sec, & Topped With Energy Drink, essentially a long island iced tea but the coke is replaced with Redbull. This Drink Definitely Gave Me Wings.

For starters, I ordered the Cigaro, which was a crispy spring roll with a pizza filling. It was served atop a shot glass filled with some pizza tomato base, it was less on cheese & good on flavour, though a few of the Cigaro tasted a little different, with a strong smell of something that wasn’t right. The Musht have was a superb Mushroom Bruschetta, that hit all the right notes, the bread could have been a little less thick though.

I did enjoy the presentation of the Cherry Cheese Pineapple, my personal favourite from some of the best pubs I have been in Chennai. It went so well together, I loved it, though the chunks of pineapple & cheese could have been of the same size for it to have worked better. My recommendation would also be to use fresh pineapple as opposed to canned ones to elevate the dish further.

Open Sesame was a nice twist to the regular Gobi Manchurian which was tossed on with crispy Sesame to make it nice & crunchy, loved it.

Did try the Acharoska, their version of a Caprioska infused with Indian pickles, it had a strong flavour of achar & I could have avoided it.

So full on mains, I decided to skip mains and jump into dessert, the Coconut Malibu Panacotta was beautiful, mild flavours but a strong impact.

Overall a great place to hang out with some signature drinks & amazing food must visit in HSR.
