Crochet is a trend that became supremely popular in 2020's spring and summer fashion week, while Tik Tok, and the internet picked it up, and ran with it. Soon, the cottage core aesthetic, which is essentially the romanticisation of cottage and farm life has become a trend to stay. If you're a fan, then check out these bands that are practicing stitch craft and how!
Love The Cottage-core Aesthetic? Here Are 12 Crochet Brands To Check Out
Itihasikala
H&M
Keeping up with the trend, H&M rolled out a sizeable collection of crochet apparel for us to choose from. The patterns and silhouettes are signature to the fast fashion brand, and while you might not spot these in-store, you're sure to find them online. They have a good collection of crochet crop tops that are breezy and summery, while also doing a bunch of pants, skirts, shorts and even mules! We love this black collared top and this knit dress giving us vacay vibes.
Da Intimo
This Delhi based brand does nightwear, loungewear, and lingerie in the latest trends and styles. That's why we weren't surprised when we noticed a sizeable collection of crochet products on their website and on Nykaa! And since crochet bikinis are a thing this year, why not pack up a pair for your next trip? We love this white handmade set which is crochet and quirky with a tassel detail.
Artistree
Artistree's a go-to for us when we look for boho-chic accessories that deserve to be worn every day. They've got lovely colourful scarves, earrings and, our favourite, crochet-work slides that are comfy and will have you dreaming of the beach as soon as you see them.
Oun And Back
Another jewellery brand we love is Oun And Back because not only have they got bright crochet earrings, they've also combined crochet with our jhumka obsession so we love that their earrings can easily be worn with a casual jeans and tee look or even a kurti for an ethnic wear mood. Their earrings are so quirky and definitely statement jewellery but we love that they're still lightweight enough that our ears won't hurt.
Woonie
If there's a newborn in the house, or you're on the look out for cute and super adorable clothes for an infant or a kid below 10, do yourself a favour and check out Woonie and their extensive collection of crochet clothes for kids! Adorable is an understatement for the cute fluffy stitched frocks, caps, and shoes we spotted here. Check out this pink halter-neck crop top that will made you go "aww."
Happy Threads
Happy Threads is probably the most appropriate name for what they do, it's impossible to look at their adorable stuff and not smile. Started by an NGO SuperMoms4U, they employ over 700 artisans to uplift women that are awesome at crocheting. They've got a bunch of home decor accessories like coasters, table runners, key holders, cushion covers and more.
Samoolam
At the risk of seeming like we have a jewellery hoarding problem (we definitely do), another brand we keep going back to is Samoolam. Their handcrafted accessories like earrings, clutches and necklaces are made by women from rural areas trying to earn their livelihood. We love how they experiment with jewellery beyond crochet hoops, too, especially their crochet ball and tassel ombre earrings.
Chungi Store
While Chungi Store does both apparel and home accessories, it's the latter that's really got our heart. Their kitschy and quirky crochet cushion covers, coasters (in the brightest shades imaginable) are perfect if you've never had a thing for modern lines and like to stick to hatke decor in your home for a more cosy feel.
One cushion cover isn't enough? Check out our list of quirky ones you can get online.
Hangit
Probably the coolest, chillest, beachy thing you could have in your home is a hammock. This single person hammock by Hangit would be a dream to have in your bedroom especially if you love to read, laze around or taking pictures of yourself at home with fun backgrounds for Instagram (guilty.)
Design Station
Sure, fairy lights are pretty but have you seen these fairy lights that come with crochet? Design Studio's crochet fairy lights, whether you like the floral or pom pom version, are an easy way to add some adorable charm to your home. We love the look of these wrapped around a full-length mirror or even against the bed frame.
If you like the look of these lights, check out our boho decor guide for more inspiration!
XxSyndrome
We had to circle back to another jewellery brand because, honestly, we can't help it and we're not sorry. XxSyndrome has a lot of jewellery available, but we loved the crochet drop earrings a little more than everything else. They look super dainty and delicate but still make an outfit look so much prettier and they come in so many colours like lavender, yellow, peach, sea green and more.
String Works
Where there are strings, naturally, there must be crochet. String Works makes gorgeous dream catchers with crochet work, beading and even feathers. The black one looks edgy and cool (and something Moira Schitt would approve of, star of Crows Have Eyes, duh) but we also love the more romantic red dream catcher. Honestly, we're expecting happy and good dreams only since we got this dream catcher for our room.
