And what better spot to enjoy a breezy evening than a rooftop restaurant or bar? Or even plan a romantic date? Here’s our pick of the best rooftop restaurants in town for you to head to.
Best Rooftop Bars & Restaurants That Offer More Than Just A Stunning View
Ebony
Perfect for a romantic date, Ebony is located on the 13th floor, giving you one of the best views of the city’s skyline. The delicious food (choose from Indian or South Asian delights) and the soft music add to the charm, making sure you’ve got yourself a perfect night out.
Must try: Mutton Dhansak, Maharaja Platter, Sangria
Cost for two: INR 1,900
Google rating: 4.2/5
Byg Brewski
Located in Hennur, this huge resto-bar looks like the set of Game Of Thrones. A spacious rooftop seating area that gives you ample privacy with a breathtaking view of the city spread out before you – that’s what Brewski has to offer. Apart from their great beer and food, of course. Their brunches are great options in case you want to take bae out to a rooftop bar.
Must try: Calamari fry, vodka cocktails, beer
Cost for two: INR 2,000
Google rating: 4.4/5
Bang - The Ritz-Carlton
Bang is definitely worth a visit for its delightful rooftop ambience, which just gets better when you have a group of buddies to chat with over a drink or two, accompanied by a good dose of lively music. They even have a spot at the edge where there is a bonfire so if you feel like pampering yourself and bae, head on over. Located in Ritz Carlton, luxury doesn't get better, but it also costs a bit more but what's money when you really want to have a great time?
Must try: Cocktails, finger food
Cost for two: INR 4,000
Google rating: 3.4/5
Tiamo At Conrad
Location. Location. Location. Tiamo at the Conrad probably bags the Best View award in Bangalore. On the third floor of the hotel, this Italian restaurant overlooks the beautiful Ulsoor lake. But the infinity pool comes first. We highly recommend you head here just before sunset, as the glow over the lake is just spectacular. Pair it with a prosecco and you're good for the evening! With alcohol it will cost your INR 2,000 per person for fairly basic cocktails and a main course and either dessert or starters. If you want to splash out a bit, which I recommend you do, especially if it is a special occasion, then pick their set menus. There are two options INR 2,499 and INR 2,999 for appetisers, soup, salad, mains and dessert.
Must try: Cocktails, salads
Cost for two: INR 3,000
Google rating: 4.3/5
Hype
With flashy lights, a 360 degree view and quite enough space if you feel like hitting the dance floor, this recently-opened rooftop bar has tapas-style snacks and old-school cocktails on offer. Perfect for a date or even when you want to treat yourself to a great night out! Read more about it here. Make sure you've got an easy INR 4,000 on you to cover costs for two. If you're here for beer though, it is just about INR 500 which is worth the sunset view from 19 floors up!
Must try: Paneer Tikka, Cocktails
Cost for two: INR 3,500
Google rating: 4.4/5
Skyye
Want to go all out for the weekend? Make your way to Skyye, right on the 16th floor of UB City. From the open-air lounge to the under-lit flooring and a breathtaking view of the city, this rooftop bar offers a spectacular experience. When you’re done savouring the view and the lively ambience, make sure to hit the dance floor. Oh, and plenty of options for food and drinks to pick from, too. It is priced on the higher side so make sure you're heading there for special occasions. This old favourite is ideal for a mid-budget session as it will cost you about INR 2,000 for two for a meal and drinks.
Must try: BBQ prawns, Peri Peri Chicken
Cost for two: INR 2,200
Google rating: 4.3/5
Sly Granny
Of course, the lower spaces of this restobar are fantastically kooky and you don’t usually want to leave Arnold Schwarzenegger and his pineapples. But we’re encouraging you to hit the roof, literally! Romantic, twinkly and cosy even, evenings should be spent at the rooftop. With high tables, and benches along the perimeter, order up a cocktail (or two!), and watch the sun go down, and the moon come up. Despite Bangalore having 99 problems, a good view from here, will not be one of them.
Must try: Tamrind Chicken, Mezze, Gnocchi
Cost for two: INR 2,500
Google rating: 4.3/5
ASEAN - On The Edge
Sitting atop Barton Centre, opposite Ebony and 13th Floor, this one has views over the army grounds, and the rest of the central business district. The food is great too - especially the Thai options. We love that it's covered too, so watch the world below and the rain hits the city. The only little obstruction is the Metro. This is our all-time favourite, and probably most Bangaloreans. Not just because it is conveniently located, and has a great view, but will cost about INR 2,000 for two.
Must try: Malacca Curry, Thai Curry
Cost for two: INR 2,000
Google rating: 4.3/5
Jetlag
Smack in Rajajinagar with the World Trade Centre, Orion Mall, ISCKON temple and more of the slight hills of Malleswaram, Jetlag is for when you don't want to splash out and be at the WTC! Your typical pub with rock music, chilli chicken, gobi manchurian, beer pitchers and cocktails, head here for an easy, breezy evening with a glittery skyline to boot. Oh, if you venture here before sunset, you'll thank me for the glorious sight of orange and yellow glow over the city. And all that for around INR 1.500 for two.
Must try: Chicken Bucket, Tofu Skewers
Cost for two: INR 1,500
Google rating: 4/5
High Ultra Lounge
If the name hasn't told you, High Ultra Lounge is one of the highest restaurants in the city. Offering an expansive view of the city skyline, the Rajajinagar lounge pub is an experience by itself if you love sunsets and Bangalore's gorgeous weather. The deck features seating along the glass panels (the only thing separating you from falling) while the inside is more cosy. That being said during the day, the large French windows let in enough light and give you a great view. This is a common venue for parties too!
Must try: Sushi Platter, Fry Prawns
Cost for two: INR 3,600
Google rating: 4/1/5
Skygarden Bengaluru
It may be in Whitefield, but at the moment, Skygarden offers an unobstructed urban skyline view. Head there in the evenings for dramatic sunset views and starlit dinners. This is one of those places where you take your date to impress them without worrying too much about the bill at the end. Fair warning, the outside looks less fancy than the inside, but you’ll forget all about it when you walk in. It’s swanky, spacious, and designed to impress. On hot (or rainy) days, you can dine under the lattice roof that offers just the right amount of cover. A meal for two will set you back by about INR 2,000.
Must try: Drunken Chicken, Platters, LIITs
Cost for two: INR 2,000
Google rating: 4.2/5
Bangalore Brew Works
Located on Residency Road, Bangalore Brew Works is a Sunday brunch favourite. Located right in the middle of Bangalore, Bangalore Brew Works offers a spectacular urban skyline and green view be it day or night. Their alfresco section has plenty of seating options for groups and couples, and they have a poolside dining option as well. Come weekends, there’s dancing and parties. Save for two sections, most of the space makes great use of natural lighting and is one of the best spots in Bangalore to enjoy our weather. It costs around INR 2,100 for two, and their inhouse brews are available at INR 200 a pint.
Must try: Summer Salad, beer cocktails
Cost for two: INR 2,000
Google rating: 4.2/5
Skydeck At Shakesbierre
Shakesbierre’s food, craft beer and creative cocktails have always been a huge plus, but all of that tastes that much better when enjoyed at their rooftop space aptly named the Skydeck. They have not one but two outdoor (and rooftop) options. The lower level partly is under a roof, but still largely open. In the evenings, the fairy lights, mood lighting and music make it feel intimate yet open. The higher level requires prior booking and offers more privacy and exclusivity and on request can be set up to be as romantic or celebratory as you please for special occasions. You have to experience it to know why we love it so much (despite it not even being the highest rooftop on the list). Meals here cost around INR 2,500 for two, and a beer around INR 250 per mug.
Must try: Spicy Chicken, Tawa Veg
Cost for two: INR 1,800
Google rating: 4.3/5
Once Upon A Rooftop
South Bangalore veterans know that Once Upon A Rooftop was once the only rooftop casual dining and pub that catered to all demographics in Jayanagar. Be it a casual drinking sesh with the squad, birthday meals with the fam, or a chill date the ambience is great for it all. With a lovely view of Jayanagar’s canopies and greenery, this one makes a pretty lunch spot, or you can head there with the gang for hookah. Unlike many places on this list, the green cover and partial roof will protect you from the harsh sun during the summers, and unpredictable rains during the rest of the year. The cost for two is around INR 1,600.
Must try: Coconut Panna Cotta, Pork Ribs
Cost for two: INR 1,400
Google rating: 4.1/5
Kaze
This list would be incomplete without Kaze. Even though it’s less restaurant and more dance club, the sleek and ultra-chic lounge is known for their Asian inspired fare and spectacular 180 degree view of the Bangalore skyline - greenery and iconic buildings in the distance. It’s a weekend party favourite, and pretty much anyone who wants to impress visitors (or anyone really) in terms of nightlife makes a trip here. Fair warning - Kaze is not even remotely close to being budget friendly. Though it means that the few times you head here will be truly special. A meal for two with drinks here will cost around INR 4,000 so save your visit when you get your salary.
Must try: Asparagus Sushi, Veg Sushi Platter
Cost for two: INR 3,500
Google rating: 4.4/5
