Shortcut

While not as charming as its older counterpart, Blossom Book House’s new store has second-hand tomes along with stationery and toys.

Spanking New

We’ve lost count of the hours we’ve spent at Blossom Book House, browsing through the shelves and savouring the smell of books all around. Located a short walk away from the old bookstore we’re all familiar with, its new outlet is much bigger, and we all know what that means — more books! But that’s not all. The new space stocks stationery {think notepads, memo holders and tiny gift boxes} along with toys and games {fancy a round of Monopoly?}. Your little ones have play dough to finger painting sets for their share of fun. We particularly love their hobby plane kits! Plus, a nice spot simply set up with chairs, if you just feel like sitting back with a book!

Complete Makeover

While its rather sterile and clean look had us missing the original store {no cramped corners or jostling for space *sniff sniff*}, we couldn’t help but head straight for the shelves. Newer books, bestsellers and latest releases dominate the front of the store along with a section for comics where you’ll find everything from Batman to MAD magazines. While the shelves are divided into categories like Indian authors, biographies and Management, we suggest you head to the far end if you’re looking for second-hand books.

Bookworms Ahoy!

Reminiscent of the packed shelves from their other store {although more neatly organised}, you’ll find quite a few great reads among the heaps here if you have the patience to sift through them all. From Mein Kampf and Vladimir Nabokov’s shortest novel, The Eye to popular YA fiction like Divergent find place on their shelves along with classics, crime and science fiction, among other genres. Don’t be surprised if you come across a shelf stocking Russian books even!

For hardcore bibliophiles, their shelf of rare books is worth checking out. From almost tattered leather-bound books {peek at a volume of Letters received by the East India Company} to a French dictionary that’s over a century old, this section is bound to get history enthusiasts engrossed. Whether you want to cook up Italian dishes, become a pro at gardening or just colour away to your heart’s content, they have plenty for everyone across categories and genres.

Stop by their elevator to check out the notices of events which will be hosted at the bookstore.
