If you want to look like a million bucks without spending a lot of money, then Roshni Boutique should be your new go-to for budget festive wear. Kolkata-based designer Roshni has a dear little boutique set up just off of Indiranagar’s 80 Feet Road. The showroom is just a little glimpse of what Roshni can do. Her style is vibrant, cheerful, and contemporary. If you like what you see, you can set up an appointment with Roshni and head to her house not too far from the store, which is stocked with everything from elaborate Anarkalis to cheerful kurtas. The space itself is a beautiful heritage home that now has antique decor, contemporary art, and a lovely cafe (Cafe Stone) if you need a break between all that browsing. A boutique store that has been going strong since 2009, The Verandah hosts curated collections from a range of designers across the country, and a few from abroad as well. The brands include Nirja, Raga & Co, Aroka, Krithaa, and Moirra among others. All of these are small brands and quite exclusive. Cropped shirts, flowy dusters, Easy breezy dresses and subtle yet glam jewellery is what you can expect. Recently they have started to focus more on sustainability so they work directly with artisans, and use scraps from their clothing (from their in-house labels) to create accessories and limited-series apparel too.

Lavender Boutique was started by fashion designer Rashmi Gupta back in 2007. She has designed for plenty of beauty pageant participants (Mrs India being one of them), and has a large NRI clientele as well. Best known for their custom designs, intricate embroidery and applique work as well as contemporary inspirations and silhouette, you can actually get the best of everything here. They're great for occasion and bridal wear of course, but they do a great job for pretty much anything you need and you can be as involved as you like through the process if the design comes from you (your design, fabric, exact shade and even style of embroidery). Take your mood/Pinterest board and head to Lavender Boutique, and you'll get exactly that.
