You have to admit bars are not Malleswaram’s thing. But where do you go when you are hankering after a chilled one and your wallet is particularly slim? Thankfully, the neighbourhood does have a handful of bars and pubs where the beer is plenty and the prices are cheap. Here’s where you chug down a beer for INR 150 or less in Malleswaram.

Chandu’s Delux

One of oldest dive bars in the area, Chandu’s is as budget-friendly as it gets. You can grab a pint for just a little more than 100 bucks. The cold, fizzy beer pairs superbly with Chandu’s military-hotel style menu that includes Pepper Chicken, Mutton Chops, and Brain Fry.

The Beer Cafe

Located at Orion Mall, that sits at the edge of Malleswaram, this watering hole is a favourite with beer lovers. You can guzzle mugs of Kingfisher or Foster’s for INR 125 {approximately}. And if you have a wee bit of wiggle room, you can even order up Geist and their in-house brews. The food menu includes Corn Bhel, Chicken Sausage Maggi, and Pepperoni Pizza.

3G’s - Gulp & Groove

A laid-back lounge, the bar menu here will surely please your wallet. Particularly wallet-friendly are their beer options that begin at around INR 130 for local brands. As you chug down your ale, you can nibble on Guntur Chicken, Mangalore Prawns, and Cheese Lamb Burgers.

1522 - The Pub

Popular with the crowds, 1522 goes old-school with its ambience and its prices. Beer on tap comes for a cheery INR 130 or so. And if you are going with a gang of pals, we recommend the beer buckets that start at about INR 650. You can also fill up your tummy with Peanut Masala, Tawa Chicken, and Tangdi Kababs.

The Studio Bar

Another Orion Mall offering, this spiffy bar offers mugs of beer INR 140 or so and pitchers for a little lesser than INR 600. Their food offerings span a few continents. And include gems like Andhra Chilli Pork, Chicken Stroganoff, and Thai Curry.
