Cheese wheel pasta is a style of pasta that is made tableside by mixing freshly cooked pasta in a hollowed cheese wheel. A layer of cheese is scraped inside the wheel so it melts when the hot pasta is mixed in. This concept is pretty new in Bengaluru and got to try this in a kiosk at Vega city mall on the food court floor.
After looking at the menu, I decided to take the Penne with broccoli and mushrooms along with the white sauce. Options on the menu are limited though. The pasta was cooked really well and the white sauce blended perfectly with penne. After mixing the pasta and adding the toppings on the cheese wheel, it is then transferred to a bowl size of your preference. Chunks of mushrooms are again topped with on the bowl and served with chilli flakes and oregano. Prices start at 159₹ (without toppings) and I felt it was a bit expensive!
Overall, a good concept and hope they introduce more toppings and customizations.
