What Makes It Awesome

Iconic saree brand from Chennai, Pothys has opened its eight-floor store that has everything from Kancheepuram silk sarees to dhotis for men. If you have spent time in Tamil Nadu, then chances are you have attended at least one of Pothys famous Aadi and Diwali sales.  Located in Majestic, grand Pothys is perhaps the grandest of them all.

With eight floors dedicated to just sarees, ethnic wear, dhotis, men’s wear, wedding wear, kids wear, and, casual wear, it’s not hard to splurge. You’ll walk out with at least a few duffel bags, after your spree here (they use duffel bags, for real!). The first three floors of Pothy’s is dedicated to just sarees of all kinds — synthetic, cotton, designer, fancy sarees, and Kancheepuram silks sarees. In fact, the second floor is dedicated to Kancheepuram silks of all colours, designs, and prices. That includes super grand designer silk options for the bride. The ground floor and the first floor houses daily wear saris, embroidered, printed, and in Pothy’s trademark styles of Kalamkari, Pochampally, and Mysore silk. Even their modern mixes of silk and chiffon will make you OD on sarees. And we have just scratched the surface.

If sarees are not your thing, head to the third floor where readymade lehengas, kurtis, anarkalis, chudidars, and dress materials are all in abundance. The men’s suiting and shirting, and dhoti section are also on this floor. The kid’s section which takes up the whole of the fifth floor has everything for toddlers, kids, and teens. The sixth floor is dedicated to men for readymade wear. Formal wear, casual wear, home wear, loungewear, accessories,  suits and blazers are what this floor consists of. Get your festive shopping done with your family under one roof!
