Afghani and Pakistani delights served with love by the good folks at Ghiza – that’s the experience you need to sign up for!

What Makes It Awesome

Filmmaker Himayath Khan and his wife Azra, who has roots in Pakistan, have always been popular among their friends for the delicious meals they serve during get-togethers. Encouraged by their friends, they started Ghiza – a home food experience, showcasing culinary traditions from Pakistan and Afghanistan, open to all of Bangalore.

Every few months, the Khans open their doors to fifteen food lovers from the city -- you can book your spot over WhatsApp on a first-come-first-serve basis, and make the payment (INR 1,550) in advance. Then, you’ll be nudged into a food coma by a specially prepared meal that starts off with you sipping on a sherbet infused with the sweetness of raisins, followed by helpings of Tawa Fried Seekh (minced and marinated chicken meat served with mint chutney) and Khosh Mazaa Shami – minced mutton patties that have been cooked in spices and herbs.

Then, you move on to Dum Afghan – slow-cooked mutton served with ghee rice – and Charsi Tikka – a dry chicken dish that goes superbly with the flaky paratha that accompanies it. The rich Nalli Nihari struts out in the end, just before the Lab-e-Janan, a sweet dish made with milk.

Pro-Tip

Stay updated with Ghiza Kitchen's social media handles (or reach out to them on WhatsApp) to know when the next meal experience will be held. This time, they have it on May 5th -- and if you miss the date, you'll be able to attend the next lunch on June 9th.

Navya considers herself to be the Cassandra of the 21st century – no one ever listens to the wisdom that she so willingly imparts. This is the only Greek tragedy element in her otherwise happy life. She’s got her Husband Charming, has perfected the art of sarcasm, is always fed copious amounts of good food, and is well on her way to self-actualization.
