The intensive and practical 12-week program is what you need to learn all the know-hows of acoustic and electric guitar and play some mean riffs and popular songs.

Get Riffin'

I’ve had my fair share of guitar coaching and I can tell you that unlike other music schools that either follow the Trinity Guildhall Syllabus or their own version of it, My School of Rock has a different, well-curated syllabus that focuses on you strumming the guitar from day one. Designed to bring out the Jimmy Page in you, the 12-week program focuses more on the know-hows of acoustic as well as an electric guitar while also teaching you how to play songs. And when I say songs, think Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California, Bohemian Rhapsody, and likes.

Enter Guitarman

Punith Basavaraju, the owner/teacher at My School of Rock {MSoR}, is a professionally trained as well as a self-taught guitar person. Conducted by Punith himself, the 12-week program ensures individual attention by restricting 6-7 students per batch, so that you get everything from strumming to chords to playing the songs sorted. The program is priced at INR 7,900 which to me personally is a neat deal. On weekdays the batches are from 7 pm to 8.30 pm, while on weekends there are three batches with the first batch starting from 10.30 am.

Jams And More

Apart from these regular classes, MSoR also conducts indoor jam sessions in their well-equipped stage and outdoor classes and events that are open to both students and public alike. The outdoor jam sessions are conducted at Cubbon Park and you can find about these events by following their page on Facebook here. Oh and lest I forget, special shoutout to the well-equipped stage {they call it the “Hendrix Arena”} that boasts everything from amplifiers to a drum set.
