What Makes It Awesome?

Recently had an authentic and amazing Maharashtrian experience at Suryawanshi. The cuisine that encompasses influential elements from Kolhapur, Mumbai, and Pune provinces was as authentic as it can get when it comes to Maharashtrian cuisine.

We kicked off with a refreshing Solkadi. Don’t let the mellow pink fool you, it's not rose milk or any other sweet drink. This spiced coconut milk and kokum drink from the Konkan Coast was a wonderful way to cool off those warm Bangalore days.

Then we had the spicy Mumbaiya misal pav. It was delicious and authentic, something as close to what you get in Mumbai. I loved every bite and almost slurped the bowl.

The Kolhapuri Paneer was delicious, spicy, and had strong flavours. The paneer was nice and soft, but the salt overpowered the flavours making it quite unpalatable. But all was forgotten, when the Jhunka Bhakri Thali was served, the varan dal was delicious. It was by far the best I have had in Bangalore. It had the perfect garlic punch with julienned ginger pieces and balanced spices.

After that, we tried the shrikhand dessert. While the plain shrikhand was good and slightly sourer, what came next was probably the most delicious Amrakhand you can find in Bangalore. It was made with fresh mango preserve made from this year’s produce, and it was the perfect way of ending the meal.

Oh, and this amazing experience that elevated by the misal pav, dal, and the amrakhand. This place is a must-visit to satiate all your Maharashtrian fare cravings.
