If you are waiting to turn over a new leaf and wanting to eat healthily, yet wanting to go out on a weekend lunch date then this cafe is perfect for you. Run by chef Sarah Edwards, who is a health coach and whose eating philosophy rests on slow mindful eating and a plant-based diet, this place is a must for those who want to start right. She has her own Instagram page( Copper+Cloves) where she gives a glimpse into her cooking, recipes and eating food for wellness. She is also behind our favourite Green theory menu. While her cafe occupies a small cosy corner in the Organic world store, what I really want to say is the USP of this cafe is that they make their cashew milk, coconut milk and oat milk in-house, the best part they are plastic-free and zero waste as well. They have a host of healthy drinks, I tried their hot chocolate milk made of cashew milk, jaggery and cinnamon. It had a very warm, intense and dark flavour( you can expect that because you don’t add cream). If you want something more gut-friendly then I suggest the Kombucha’s or maybe the Tepucha. You can even try their French process coffee which is very refreshing. They have some cinnamon cookies and other carrot muffins as well, we tried their whole wheat peanut butter cookie which the strong flavour of peanut and topped with chocolate. This place uses no Maida! They have a range of sourdoughs and tartines with options like smoked hummus and smashed peas, spicy avocado smash. We tried the sourdough with smashed peas, smoked red peppers and channa. The sourdough was soft and tasted just right with as of smashed peas and topped with caramelized red peppers. For the main course, they have three bowls- the Asian one, the pulled bbq jackfruit one and the Sri Lankan one. We ordered the pulled bbq jackfruit one and the Asian one. I would say I liked the Asian one a little more - it was a bowl which looks healthy from any angle that you want to look at - topped with micro-greens, some tofu, in-house kimchi, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce and rice and a topping of hemp seeds. The second bowl was also generously topped with some micro-greens and hemp seeds. It comes either with some hummus/ smashed avocado, chickpeas in a slow-cooked gravy of tomatoes and jackfruit and creamy cashew sour cream. While we did not try the desserts or the smoothie bowls, their cacao energy balls and carrot muffins are highly recommended we hear, it wasn’t available that day but their cacao avocado smoothie bowl sounded delicious. You can even order from them and they have their own website, currently, they are not available on Swiggy or Zomato. This place is specifically for people looking for wholesome, healthy nutritious and tasty food, what can you say when the chef is a certified health coach right? So it’s not for those of you who want to have a cheese butter kulcha and some oil laden paneer sabzi
