While we agree there definitely is no place like home, you can always give a space (be it your cubicle at work or that new flat you’ve just moved in to) your unique spin and make yourself at home. Or, perhaps, you enjoy letting your creativity flow while you give your interiors a complete makeover. Bookmark our handy guide to home decor stores in Bangalore for when you go on that decorating spree.

Good Earth

Give the kitschy pieces a break and add some elegance to your space with Good Earth’s home decor range which includes Moroccan and Indian-inspired lanterns (nickel-plated or handcrafted in antique brass and zinc), metal vases and centrepieces. While you’re at it, go for their silk cushions (sporting bright shades or prints) to throw in a dash of colour.

The Chalk Boutique

While you may be tempted by the apparel, jewellery and footwear, the decor pieces here are just as delightful. Glass lanterns, candles and throw cushions with prints of familiar landmarks (we spotted one with Lal Bagh’s glass house!) are what you must stock up on. Read more about the store here.

The Purple Turtles

Like a wonderland of sorts, the beautifully-lit store is inviting enough without the lure of their fine home decor range. Known for their customised lighting options, the store has everything from floor lamps to pendant lamps. Even simple table lamps (with flowery lampshades) to accentuate that forgotten corner table. While you’re there, make sure you check out their furniture range (poufs, benches and hammock-style chairs) and decor accents (mirrors, wall decor and hangings). Read more about it here.

Varnam

Working with artisans from Channapatna, Varnam has an array of handcrafted lacware products with natural colours. Their functional pieces like the Gubbi Paperweight and Photostand or the charming Goobe Night Lamp are sure to catch your attention as are their Dancing Dragonfly stationery holder. Perfect to redo your work station.

Sunshine Boulevard

From wooden cat wall hooks and pot holders in the shape of mini-cycles to carved benches and lighting options, Sunshine Boulevard has a lot in store, if you’re looking to revamp your home.

Oma

If classy is what you’re looking for, these guys have got you sorted. Oma’s home decor range includes art, wall decor, accessories and lighting (think crystal lamps and lanterns). Simple yet elegant, their collection also features throw cushions. But be ready to splurge a bit here.

Cane Boutique

A wide range of furniture made of wood, fabric and wicker, they let you customise pieces. Whether it’s a rustic or minimalist look that you want to achieve, they have quite a lot of options. Do check out their fusion collection which blends new trends and period styles to create a timeless theme.

Pure Home + Living

Their Asia-inspired decor accents, crafted candle votives and sequined cushions might seem simple but try using them in your room and you’ll see how they transform the space. Also on offer are vases, storage options and dinnerware.

The Swadeshi Store

Home furnishings and accessories in handwoven cotton are the highlights at this store. So, load up on fine upholstery, bedspreads, cushion covers, hammocks and rugs, all made of natural fabric.

Studio Ebony

Want to combine contemporary and ethnic styles? Try Studio Ebony. Known for their furniture range which includes cane pieces as well as ones with detailed woodwork, they also have bronze statues, hand-embroidered table linen and table lamps (in vivid colours).

Nicobar

Housed in what used to be the first floor of Good Earth’s store on Lavelle Road, Nicobar‘s store in Bangalore has a range of home decor products to spoil you for choice. Apart from votives and vases, their city-themed candles and cushions (think Madurai jar candle or Allepey and Dandeli cushions) are what you can add to your shopping bag. We’re also fans of their cute tableware which come with prints like polka dots and harlequin designs.

Magari

From plush sofas and tables to upholstery and curtains, Magari‘s store has plenty to jazz up your space. Along with classy, wooden furniture, their collection also includes colourful poufs and coin rugs that are sure to add a splash of colour. The best part? They’re all up for customisation if you want a piece in a different colour, fabric or design!

Mirador

If you’re the kind who prefers doing up your digs with decor pieces or furniture that stand out, Mirador is where you can head to. Spread across two floors, the curated pieces here are apparently sourced from across the country and the Indonesian isles. Mostly sporting a distressed or rough textured finish, their furniture range includes everything from lazy garden recliners to brick-style mirror frames.

Linens N Drapes

Sometimes, it’s the little details like a quirky cushion or a curtain that amps up the appeal of a spot. And, this store on Commercial Street seems to have quite a lot for that. Whether it’s their Audrey Hepburn stools, cushion covers (featuring the likes of Bob Marley or Einstein) or thermocol stools which look so 3D, they all make for great conversation starters. Bamboopecker, a cool Bangalore-based home label is now online on Shop On LBB and is all set to turn your home in an eco-friendly, bamboo paradise. Like their name suggests, all their handmade products are made using bamboo. This doesn't mean they look drab, quite the opposite infact -- picture colourful bamboo bowls, blinds, lamps, stools and even cots and other furniture. We however, have an unhealthy obsession with their colourful bowls, especially the Lacquered and Pearl Inlay Coconut Bowls.
