L’Atelier is the perfect spot to style your hair, trim your beard, look at fine pieces of local art, and even attend workshops. Plus, you can take your dog along!

What Makes It Awesome

Started by French hair stylist Rimène Maïzi, L’Atelier in Indiranagar, is a slice of Paris in Bangalore. It’s got chic decor, makes you look good, and there’s even original art (local artists, of course,) dotting the walls! An energetic Shih Tzu, Deepak, will welcome you, and make it known that dogs are welcome, and that wins brownies points from us! Come on, how often can you be lazily getting a blow dry, coffee in one hand, magazine in the other, with your pooch being looked after by someone else? Hardly, if ever! The staff is happy to feed then and keep them entertained, so long as they’re not snappy or too massive a breed!

They offer hair styling -- cuts, blow dry, colour and smoothening, for men and women, as well as threading services for the ladies, and beard trimming for the lads. If you’re looking to relax, then a massage with coconut, lavender, olive or almond oil will do the trick. I trooped off to get just a hair trim, but Rimène and stylist Kartik’s enthusiasm to give me a long Bob and a smoothening spa treatment tempted me too much. I gave in naturally, and had a my unruly locks first smoothened with a spa that also involved a soothing head massage. Then followed the hair cut, which was possibly the most technical cut I’ve ever got. Kartik analysed my hair, gave me the lowdown on how it will look when styles, and natural, before then precisely lopping off inches to give me that long bob. I love it!

Pro Tip

Men, if you feel it’s for women, think again. Bengaluru FC’s Erik Partaalu is a regular here, and if you’ve seen Big E, then you know you’ve got to get his stylist too!
