Lavonne Academy Of Baking Science And Pastry Arts’ eponymous cafe is managed by the institute's students and serves French-style patisserie along with salads, different kinds of pasta, coffee, tea and drinks. When you walk through the Lavonne's red door, what welcomes you is the open plan dessert bay that is lined will all sorts of baked goodies -- muffins, tea cakes, French pastry, and savoury eats like puffs, and quiches. You'll almost wish there's a seat next to the bay so that you can savour the desserts with both your eyes and tummy. Your indoor seating is long, comfortable booth-esque setup. But when you want a bit of privacy, we recommend the sweet al fresco space with swing-like seating and lots of greenery.
Dessert is naturally recommended here, so start off with the Fig Danish. It's tart, sweet, sticky and all kinds of wonderful. Fans of brioche, do try the Orange Cheese Brioche. It's one of the best we have tasted in the city. Sprinkled with sugar and just a hint of citrus to it, the brioche was cheesy, savoury and not-so-sweet. For something savoury, there's always the sausage & onion quiche to fall back on. Pair all this with a strong Flat White and you've yourself a nice meal. In fact, the menu here won't pinch your wallet. A slice of cake will cost you between INR 50-80 while your mains (pasta, sandwiches or filling salads) are under the INR 300 mark.
