'Explore Bangalore, its history, culture, food and secrets on our leisurely walk' is what one of the first Instagram posts of Local Walks says. And when we went for their Malleshwaram Art Walk, it's exactly what happened. A leisurely walk that Sriram, founder of Local Walks, took us through North Bangalore one morning. It was the first of the many walks that have been happening since and it's gone beyond Sriram's popular Malleshwaram walk to include Cubbon Park Trails.
The Malleshwaram Art Walk is our favourite because it goes beyond just the lore of Malleshwaram and the eateries, but takes a look at the artwork through the many alleys on the street. We're not going to divulge more details about the trek in terms of the day schedule because it's best to experience it yourself. The walks are leisurely and there are a lot of fun anecdotes and stories that Sriram brings to these walks. Plus, he's also the kind of tour guide who will want you to stop and ask questions and he'll be more than happy to answer it. And the best part? You'll end up making friends. We did. Oh and lest we forget, lots of snacks.
