What Makes It Awesome

Koramangala's bustling 5th Block has a new spot for an all-vegetarian affair – Mahè (stylised MAHÈ) Global Kitchen. Set inside a beautifully renovated house, the two-floored space is warm, inviting, and done up in earthy shades of green, cream, and brown. Mood lighting sets a relaxed ambience for the evening, while during the day, the outdoor space makes for a great spot to work out of or catch up with friends. Our favourite spot is the balcony seating on the first floor – private, with lots of foliage all around, and on good days, Bangalore's breeze. Since the rooms of the house have been converted into dining spaces, there are spots that you can pick to host private parties and meet-ups. We also love the fact that all the trees and garden that came with the house have been preserved.

The first thing we noticed when we walked into the space was the open kitchen with the chaat counter – no-brainer that the first thing we got was a pani puri. It hit the spot and set the tone for the night with Samosa Chaat coming in next – works for people who like their chaats with dahi (we don't!). Oh, and they have masala papad on the menu much to our delight – it's about the simple pleasures.

The menu is a mix of staples from all around with Asian, Italian, and North Indian options. The Crystal Dimsum has a spicy base and the Spicy Veg Sushi has that nice little kick – we like our food with a bit of spice and these definitely fit the bill. The Mahe Veggie Pizza comes loaded with veggies and a spicy tomato base – thin-crust pizza with a good bite. We washed down all that food with a Grapefruit Cooler. Dessert is either Indian or global and everyone at the table polished off the warm Gulab Jamun and Malai Rabdi.

Pro-Tip

In the coming days, the space will also have coffee being served by Kink Coffee, so if you're looking to have quick meetings, you know where to head.
