What Makes It Awesome

If you are in and around Koramangala and looking for a quick bite, then head over to Mama Mangaalore. The darshini-style restaurant offers Mangalorean comfort food in the form of idlis, dosa, and kori rotti with gassi, Mangalore buns, biscuit rotti, and a piquant crunchy podi (gunpowder). Open from 8 AM up until the wee hours of the night, you can pop in for breakfast or just about any meal. We've been regulars here for their ghee idli and their khali dosa with chicken gassi. The gassi (curry) is flavourful and has a good balance of heat.

If you're popping by in the evening for coffee, then definitely order their frothy filter coffee. And to go with it, biscuit rotti, a crumbly delicious crispy bun situation. Oh, and you must order the Mangalore buns. It's one of the best we've had. That and coffee just hits the spot. The limited options work out great for anyone who wants a good meal and doesn't want to spend hours deciding on what to eat. Plus, it's easy on the pocket too. A meal for one won't cost you more than INR 150.

Pro-Tip

They do have specials from time to time so definitely check that out when you're there next. Plus, while we don't have a single sweet tooth, the Khasi Halwa is worth a try.
