Nevermind has continued to be a favourite for retro nights, cocktails, and wonderful food. It helps that potted plants, dreamy ceiling mirrors, plush couches and chairs, cosy corners and a very retro-looking bar, make it a really chic and Insta-worthy.
But it’s their new menu we’re currently loving! We kicked things off with the Brie Tempura that is now our new favourite cheese dish. How can (fried) brie with walnut and orange, not be a chart topper! The Shrimp Scampi in white wine, garlic and parsley butter and chilli is another favourite. We were busy hunting around for bread to mop up the sauce! Dim sum -- we had Spinach and Corn, and Spicy Chicken & Fennel Bulb, also makes an appearance, though we’d skip it in favour of devouring the fabulous B&B Burger. Being a work day, we had ourselves just one cocktail -- the Blue Moon Bath. It’s a dramatic cocktail (also Insta-worthy) made from vodka, elderflower, blue curacao, lime juice, egg white.
Made from candied bacon, a beef patty, glazed doughnut bun with crunchy peanut butter and chilli lime mayo, it comes with French Fries, and it’s just right. Apart from the patty which was not overdone, the in-house doughnut bun really brought out the flavours, without being bland itself. For mains, the Pan-Seared Red Snapper should be your pick. Especially with the flavourful chimichurri sauce. It’s a rather healthy option with couscous and an orange fennel salad accompanying it, so don’t worry about that extra starter! Or dessert, because the Tall, Dark & Crunchy must be had.
It’s a tiered dessert of milk chocolate sponge, dark chocolate ganache and cashew praline dust, that is light, and not too sweet. It’s one of those desserts you’ll love, without it overwhelming you!
