The Egg Factory celebrates the humble egg with cuisines from all over the world, from Tex-Mex to Asian food, you can dig into everything from khao suey and baked tortillas to kaya brioche.

What Makes It Awesome

Start off with their smoothies with the top prize for the All Berries smoothie, which is exactly how Mum makes — complete with berry bits to nibble on. Your starter for the day is the Tex-Mex Miggas, which is a sharing plate of crispy baked tortilla shreds, topped with scrambled eggs and plenty of cheese. It was comfort food 101 and we wondered why we had never tried this combination before.

Other eggy deliciousness you can tuck into includes the Revolitillo de Huevos, a South American-style egg preparation, served with garlic bread and watermelon — ideal to have post a workout -- and the creamy Malai Egg Curry, which was a Bengali-style curry , spicy and full of homely flavours. What’s for dessert, you ask? The Kaya Brioche and Andey Ka Kheer. The brioche comes with a creamy sweet Kaya spread served on toasted buns that are not overpoweringly sweet, but sweet enough. The Kheer is a creamy egg-based pudding served with roasted nuts and vermicelli -- a nice light sweet dish that you're likely to enjoy!

What Could Be Better

The Burmese Khao Suey was a bit too bland for our liking. But if you don’t mind a non-authentic version of the broth, with mushrooms and broccoli over a bed of noodles, go for it.

Pro-Tip

If you like a lot of nuts in your smoothie, do try the The Mist. It's an unconventional blend of almonds, dates, figs and nutmeg with sweet notes.
