Malgudi Mylari Mane: A new pit stop on Bengaluru Hassan highway for riders and travellers. An enjoyable place serving only traditional dishes with reasonable prices where we were compelled to visit. The ambiance is pleasant with outdoor & indoor seatings, decorated with Chittara art made by artists of Deevaru community who live in the verdant western ghats of North Karnataka.
Their simple menu tells us whatever they prepare is made with care and perfection. We started with Paneer pepper dry, Paneer chili & Mushroom pepper dry. The Paneer were soft, tender and spiciness just kicked off on the first bite. We savoured the Paneer dishes more than mushrooms though we are fond of mushrooms.
Another traditional dish which we often enjoy is Akki Rotti and Yennegai (Roti made from fresh rice flour and Brinjal curry). The way Chef. Tejappa made the rottis was extraordinary; patting the rotties with some cool beats is truly a delight to watch. No wonder the rottis were soft and went really well with yennegai.
One cannot miss Mylari Dose and Pudi Dose of this place. Big, crisp doses, roasted in ghee and Chutney Pudi drizzled on top, is one step to Cloud 9. The sagu (curry) served here is different than the regular ones like Potato bhaji (Aloogedde palya)
And lastly, the star dish of our lunch- Veg Pulav with Bas Saaru We would personally vouch for it for it's pungent flavor and for introducing us to a new combo. Usually, Pulavs are served with Raita but here the combination of Pulav with Bas Saaru is like a Royal flush of poker; it beats all the combinations.
This place also serves astonishing non-vegetarian dishes too! Plan a drive to this place, enjoy some family time with delicious food and we are sure you would have an great time together!
