We love our cafes in Bangalore, but we are also the kind who would love it when the cafe offers more than just ambience and good food. So you can imagine our enthusiasm when one of our friends told us about Now Boarding Cafe in Jayanagar. The cafe offers its patrons a range of board games, puzzles, and card games to pick from. And we're not talking just your popular games that almost everyone's played at one point (Cantan and Scrabble much?) but interesting games such as Civilization, Risk, IPO, and Trapwords.
IPO is essentially a trading game and we promptly are avoiding it because our financial skills are next to zero. But we can see the appeal. There are also puzzle games and because we're not past the trauma of losing that one puzzle tile from a 1000-piece, we just watched other people live our dreams. Maybe a visit every now and then to the cafe will help us get over it. We counted that there are over 50+ games on the shelves, and we're definitely trying them all.
We love that there's a Game Expert who will take you through the rules and how to play games that you are not so familiar with. And yes, we checked, you can't stack Draw 2 and Draw 4 when playing Uno.
Lest you get caught up in the games as we did, there's also cafe grub to go along and the menu has got everything from finger food to burgers, pasta, and desserts.
