What Makes It Awesome

I was all geared up to experience what MISU has to offer, blocked a table on a Wednesday evening, as early as their first service for the evening. The polite service staff offered me the menu and served me some complimentary kimchi and pickled veggies while I was waiting for my friend and taking a look at their extensive menu.

What caught my attention was, within 15 minutes the restaurant became busy with customers & still no complaints on the attention that we received whilst ordering and throughout the service. My friend arrived and we decided to try the nam prik ghai, a Thai chicken starter and garlic pepper soft shell crabs.

The chicken had been nicely tossed in Thai spices & red chillies packed a wonderful punch & made us hungry for more. The garlic pepper soft shell crabs did not look very appetising, upon trial, the taste was average, but the meat was fresh.

Having heard a lot about their tempura Prawns, and also because tempura prawns were getting ordered across tables around us, we decided to order a portion. We got 5 pieces of nicely fried Prawns, went excellently with the dipping sauce, met our expectations, though did not exceed.

Overall starter service was a mixed bag, so I kept my expectations from what's coming next, a little low. For mains, we just ordered a Hainanese chicken rice with an intention to share, as we felt a little too full after three starters. My chicken rice memories are primarily from the hawker stalls in Singapore & Malaysia, and I kind of anticipated what to expect.

What we received was a slightly more sophisticated looking dish though. The first spoonful of the beautifully cooked rice in chicken broth took me on a trip down memory lane to the food courts of Singapore. A top-notch dish with exceptional quality, with every mouthful bursting with flavours of South East Asia. The accompanied soup was wholesome with concentrated chicken flavours, making me want more. Overall, a highly recommended dish, you must try if you ever visit MISU. Overwhelmed with such a wonderful main, we decided to stretch our greedy tummies to try another main. Slightly confused with the options, we went ahead with a Thai Green Curry Chicken.

Again a top quality dish, with strong sweet, sour & spicy Thai favours, with beautifully cooked chicken. The best part about the dish was the accompanying jasmine rice, which typically doesn't get served in any of the South East Asian places in Bangalore, with an exception of here in MISU. The jasmine rice is what elevated the curry to the next level, as close to what you get in speciality Thai restaurants.

With such great mains, we greedy gluttons wanted to test out their dessert offering too, and this time strictly orders just one to share. We need to come back to try the other mains, which I believe is going to be exceptional, their Bao's, Dimsum & Sushi. A decent start, amazingly exceptional mains, a slightly disappointing end to what was a great dining experience. The dessert that we tried was a letdown, but that's not going to keep us away. Misu expects us to attack you soon as a larger group four mains starters.

What Could Be Better?

We ordered a Japanese baked cheesecake for dessert, which was a confused soul between Japanese and Italian, tasting more like a well-done bread pudding.

What's My Pro Tip?

The chicken Hainanese rice is a must try here, don’t leave the place without having this delicacy.
