When you have a menu curated by Chef Abhijit Saha, the lovely Lavelle Road setting, and a cosy inviting space that suits any occasion, you know you've got yourself a winner. Over Coffee (stylised O'ver Coffee) is the winner we are talking about, a coffee and wine bar that serves up a European menu with panache. Industrial lighting, fuss-free decor, photos, planters, and books make up the casual vibe at Over Coffee.
We had dropped by the space for breakfast after our once-in-a-year run at Cubbon Park and while the smoothie bowls and avocado toasts looked appealing, it was the Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles and Breakfast Lamb Burger that caught our eye. We didn't see any problem given that waffles are technically a breakfast staple. Crispy chicken and that spiced honey-butter sauce to pour over was just the breakfast we dream about often.
We obviously peaked at the rest of the menu and found things we wanted to return for. The Arrapesto Flatbread, which comprises a pesto-tomato sauce base is something we definitely want to try. We noticed a lot of plant-based and vegan options, so that's a good sign for folks who prefer that. We are also eager to try the Sundried Tomato and Ricotta-stuffed Chicken Breast.
The wine menu boasts international wines that you can order by the glass or bottle—think from regions of Chile, France, and Italy. There are wine-based cocktails and we can see how the mimosas and sangrias are perfect for brunch. In the coffee menu, you get your usuals, but there's also craft coffee that sources beans from Sakleshpur and Chikmagalur and you can order it in a style of your liking—Aeropress to Moka Pot.
