According to Taste Atlas' 150 Most Legendary Restaurants in the World & Their Iconic Dishes Kerala's Paragon, which opened back in 1939 in Kozhikode (Calicut), is the 11th most legendary restaurant known for its biryani. So when they said they are opening in Bangalore, and that too bang in the centre of the city, guess who was most excited—us and pretty much everyone who's had food at the Calicut outlet and loves Kerala food in general. Also, this is Paragon’s first outpost in the country outside of Kerala, so more reason for the hype. Located at 1 Shobha Mall, the outlet is packed on most days leaving us still waiting to try out their food. The space is done up in a no-nonsense casual dining set and you’re going there more for the food than the ambience.
We got our info from trusted sources that when we get the table we must try the Pickled Carrot & Salted Mango Salad, Prawn Mango Curry, and their iconic Chicken Biryani. Oh and of course, there's no meal that's complete without the dynamic duo of porrota and beef. Plus, on special requests, the deep-fried quail is something that you need to try. We’re already hungry from writing this recommendation and we’re going to try our luck in securing a table for lunch. Or dinner.
