What Makes It Awesome?

The new entrant to the ever hustling Kormangala is the Greek-themed House of Troy. Set in a Mediterranean vibe of blue and white tones with brass inlays, resembling the bylanes of Santorini. The indoors is a fine dining experience, with a bar and plush seating, Greek art and lights adding to the theme.

The outdoor setting resembles the traditional Greek patios, with protective walls, colourful terrazzo tiles and potted plants. The cocktails are predominantly ouzo based renditions.

The mainstay of any Greek meal is their classical dips which are how we start our meal here. Followed by the Fasolatha - the staple food of the Greek, it's a soup with white beans, crunchy vegetables and herbs. For starters, the prawn Saganaki - Greek rustic dish with tomatoes, prawns and feta brings out the rights flavours and is a must-try. The Spanakopita - triangular phyllo with spinach and cheese stuffing are flaky and nice. The Meltzanes Papoutsakia - spiced minced lamb stuffed in eggplant and baked with cheese. The Keftedakia - minced lamb meatballs tossed in a flavourful sauce, is good too.

For the main course, we tried the Greek stuffed chicken - stuffed chicken and sun-dried tomatoes, tossed in paprika sauce with potatoes and herbs. The citrus oven-roasted chicken with skordalia was marinated with tangy marinade, it just melted in the mouth, and complements the garlic potato mash. The grilled salmon was fresh and juicy with creamy polenta and spinach in a creamy herb feta sauce. The Greekalata - the pan seated tiger prawns is for all the prawn lovers. The wild mushroom risotto, deliciously creamy and served with pita bread.

For the desserts, the Baklava served with pistachio ice cream is a must-try.
Overall, the place is seeping with all things Greek, and has fresh preparations of Greek interpretations and grills, with a generous helping of cheese.
