When Miti Desai began Recipe Of Hope with the intention of Service, Sharing and Sustaining, little did she know this volunteer-driven initiative would provide thousands of free meals and grow into a team of 90+ home cooks and 40+ volunteers. The journey began during the first lockdown but only took full form after the second wave crept up unannounced disrupting whatever little normalcy we had. When Covid-19 cases began seeing a drastic spike, Recipe Of Hope joined hands with an old friend, Piyush Jain and launched two new verticals -- The Covid Drive and Recipe Of Hope Plus.
Through the Covid Drive, the team has managed to provide home cooked meals for over 4,000 people isolating and recovering since April of 2021. ROH Plus on the other hand, intends to provide home cooked meals and provision kits to essential and vulnerable communities. Thus far, despite having rolled out only in June, ROH Plus has achieved the herculean task of giving out nearly 7,000 kgs of supplies and 450 vital provision kits.
Now, scaling up as demand increases is ROH's biggest and only goal. And being entirely crowd-funded means they look to you and I for help. Check out their fundraiser on Ketto and donate to make a difference, today.
