If you ask us about a list of cafes in Koramangala, then Roastea is right on top. A few months old, we were charmed by the spacious al fresco dining of Roastea when we stepped in. Bangalore's all-around famous weather makes the al fresco spot a great place to kick back and enjoy your solo coffee date with a book or catch up with the bestie after work. Since we had dropped by in the evening and the weather was cool, we propped ourselves near the pizza counter where a large wood-fired oven was busy baking pizza.
With a name like Roastea, we assumed the menu would have a large collection of tea, but it also equally has a good collection of coffee. And a nearly all-vegetarian menu sans for a few egg dishes. But before got down to ordering, we popped by the indoor space and saw that they have their bakery unit that makes fresh bakes including croissants and tea cakes. The indoor space is great if you don't want the busy Sony World side of traffic to disturb you. Plus, they have plenty of board games for you to borrow and play with your friends.
We got to ordering and from the coffee menu, we liked the variety we saw. There's speciality coffee in the form of Cortado to a good old cappuccino and you can get these in oat milk, soy milk, and almond milk variants apart from regular milk. Plus, we spotted Biscoff Latte, Tres Leches Latte, and Espresso Champagne which seems interesting enough for anyone with an adventurous coffee palate. The Callebaut Hot Chocolate sounds perfect for the weather we are having and that's something we are coming back for. Call it choice paralysis or just comfort, we ended up picking a cappuccino to go with our Purple Haze mocktail. The mocktail is a refreshing drink with tart notes from cranberries and lemon.
For food, we picked up an English Breakfast (available all day) and even though we eyed the croissan'wiches, we decided it's better eaten at breakfast. The Chilli Ala Pomodoro was our choice for a wood-fired pizza. We're told they are sourdough pizza and we quite liked it — a good cafe pizza that hits the spot. When we were looking for some images to add to this recommendation, we came across their handkerchief pasta that they make in-house and that's something that we recommend you ought to try. It comes with a choice of sauces — mushroom and pumpkin-infused.
The croissants were flaky and we're happy that they are available online for order as well in case we can't make it to the cafe. Overall, we do like a cafe that offers not just good ambience and food, but also a spot to just have fun. So you can find us coming back here real soon.
