Their guacamole of course. They have three kinds of it. And their fantastic desserts.

Lowdown On The Ambience

A classy, fine dining style restaurant with open air seating as well as indoors. With a good view of UB City piazza’s fountain, wooden chandelier lighting and its quiet atmosphere, this is one Mexican restaurant that serves it up sophisticated.

Guacamole For The Win

Chef Vikas Seth of Sanchez started us off with Charred Corn and Black Beans Guacamole made fresh by our table side, and how! The guac was deliciously creamy, served with blue corn tortilla chips and there is no way you can stop at just one. Our lemongrass iced tea was served with a reed of lemongrass as the straw, owing to the ban on plastic. This was followed up with some crispy Fish Taquitos, made with beer battered baja fish with chipotle mayonnaise and salsa. Rule — If something is batter fried, we will eat it. Besides, it was yum anyway. When the time for mains came, we tried the Lamb Barbacoa, shredded lamb with Mexican rice and corn tortillas, and if you’re a fan of spicy, saucy, lamb, this is perfect.

All You Need Is Love And Dessert

We ended with the most beautiful Tres Leche {Mexican three milk cake} for dessert and it was moist and sweet and everything wonderful. The sweetness wasn’t too overpowering either. But what really took the cake, was the Special Valentine’s Day dessert. A theatrical concoction of white chocolate, chocolate berries, fudge and ice cream made into a sphere that opens up when warm spiced dark chocolate is poured over it. Absolutely belleza!

So, We’re Thinking…

Sanchez, with their new menu, has got their A game on. The fresh guacamole made at your table, and the dramatic desserts get our vote!
