If you are looking to spend some time along the beach with bae while in Mangalore? Head to Tannirbhavi Beach located at about 11 kilometers from the city. This beach is less crowded compared to the neighboring beach, Panambur. You can reach the beach either through Kuloor bridge or you can take a ferry near Sultan Bakery via the Gurupura river. As it isn't frequented by tourists as much as other beaches in Mangalore, one can enjoy time with bae or even alone at this beach. While you are here you can enjoy water sports such as boating, jet-ski, and surfing among others.
Check out the Tannirbhavi Tree Park which is a 15-hectare land next to the beach and is maintained and developed by the Forest Department of Karnataka. Find tree species found in the Western Ghat region and medicinal plants that are used in Ayurveda at this tree park. Take a walk along the shoreline and watch the sunset while you are at Tannirbhavi Beach. Treat yourself with some Mangalorean seafood cooked with produce fresh out of the ocean at small food stalls at the beach. There is also a lifeguard present here to ensure the safety of the visitors (however, we recommend that you don't swim too far out in the ocean). The best time to visit Mangalore and Tannirbhavi beach is during winters (September-April).
