Over 30 varieties of beer, a ton of space, and even a beer garden

What to eat

There is a certain homely vibe to the food here. In fact, if it takes your fancy, you can even order Maggi – served with either chicken sausage, chicken tikka or veggies. Try the Calcutta Chilly Chicken, which is crumbed, fried and seasoned with curry leaves {that’s a first in this style of chicken} and red chili powder – perfect finger food. Continental/fusion options include pasta, thin crust pizza, beer-battered fish and chips or a good range of grills – the salmon, served up with a spicy salsa sauce and comforting mash potato, is good value for money.

What to drink

Even if you’re not usually a cocktail fan, don’t leave without sampling the beer versions here. Extra refreshing in the summer, the beer undernote makes them mercifully less sweet than your average cocktail. Our vote is either for the Beer Rita {which combines Miller with Triple Sec and Tequila} or Beerijito which {you guessed it!} is a beer-inspired take on a mojito.

The DL on the ambience

Bigger may not always be better, but when it comes to the new flagship Beer Café outlet (known as BIGGIE) size is certainly an advantage. With a spacious garden, a double height bar space, comfy sofas upstairs and even a terrace {with an extra bar – good to know about if downstairs is getting busy!} there’s room for everyone here. We can imagine whiling away many a Sunday afternoon playing pool here with friends. For sports fans, it’s well set up with multiple screens and seating options for match days.

So we’re thinking…

Maybe it’s the large portions, or maybe it’s the vibe, but there’s something about this place that makes you feel comfortable. If you either live or work in Koramangala then you’re going to keep heading back here.
